Nicklaus, a winner of a record 18 professional major championships among his 118 professional victories worldwide, and, for the past 40 years, one of the golf business' most industry-shaping and prolific golf course designers, received the award in front of more than 330 international industry professionals at The Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt Hotel, near Dublin, Ireland, on May 13th, 2008. The 18-time Major Championship winner was given a minute’s standing ovation when he took to the stage.
